Vietnamese-style chicken noodle soup.

You'll need:

A good stereo
"White Blood Cells" by The White Stripes
20 Marlboro Lights
A bottle of good claret
Chicken breasts
Straight-to-wok plain noodles
corriander
chinese cabbage
star anise
soy sauce
thai/chinese-style fish oil
chicken stock (propoh)
spring onions
red and green chillies
fresh ginger
garlic

Wait until your Mrs is out, put on the CD very loudly.
Have a big slurp of wine

boil the stock
add a diced clove of garlic
add half a red and half a green chilli (chopped), more if you're Trig.
add one star anise
add two chopped spring onions

wait two minutes then add the chicken, cut into thin strips

boil and cook for 10 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through

during this play some air guitar and hop about. also smoke at least two of the fags

add a splash of soy and a splash of the fish oil (not too much of the latter)
add the fresh ginger (a generous pinch of powdered ginger will do if you can't get fresh)
add the corriander

put in the noodles, bring back to the boil for about three minutes
add the cabbage, boil for one more minute

refill wine glass and serve
